I am sure you have heard the saying “laughter is the best medicine.” It is not known who coined these actual words, but the concept itself is found in the Bible and many believe that is its origin. Some attribute the origin of this phrase to the American publisher and humor writer Bennett Cerf. Laughter is the physiological response to humor. But we do know: laughter will trigger healthy physical and emotional changes in the body. It strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. That is an amazing list of benefits.
I think we could all use more laughter.
I love to laugh. Especially a good uncontrollable laugh. I am in awe when a talented individual can deliver a good joke – and even more impressive is someone that can deliver a good joke at work. I don’t have that talent, but I am going to share a few jokes here that may improve your mental and physical health 😊
Hats off to you if you have this talent, please bring more of it – after all, you are helping improve the health of those around you!
What is your favorite joke?
